Quantum Mechanics, Transpersonal Psychology, and Archetypal Astrology as Trans-materialist Science
Stanislav Grof and Richard Tarnas consider archetypal astrology to be the Rosetta Stone of the human psyche. Additionally, Wolfgang Pauli was instrumental in encouraging the publication of Carl Jung’s Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle. Pauli edited the monograph for phenomenological coherency with the insights rendered by relativity and quantum field theories. Now, new insights from quantum erasure experiments indicate an entangled relationship between electrons and human consciousness and shed new light on the understanding of our synchronistic relationship with the universe. The most recent interpretations of quantum mechanics describe a participatory co-created reality between observer and observed. The radical re-visioning of the location of human consciousness rendered by Grof’s LSD research and Tarnas’ archetypal historiography recognizes the human psyche’s mysterious participation in one’s birth chart and the ongoing planetary alignments in time. Particularly, archetypal historiography with its multiple year outer planetary alignment approach, can be recognized as waves of archetypal potential that correspond to higher probability for finding archetypal phenomenon associated with the archetypal manifestations of said planetary alignments. This is analogous to finding the associated electron within a particular probability orbital shell around the nucleus of an atom. Symmetry is key to physics as well as to a healthy psyche. Symmetry between the psyche and the world is key to a healthy planet. This lecture will highlight the overlapping coherences between quantum mechanics and archetypal astrology and demonstrate the capacity of the archetypal astrological discipline to render qualitative insight into the depth of the human psyche through empirical consensus analysis of psychological and historical phenomena associated with the mathematical alignments of the planets and their associated archetypal probability fields. A trans-materialist science.
Chad Harris has been studying astrology since 1995 and has been professional counseling astrologer since 2008. Chad is also a contributing author to Archai: The Journal of Archetypal Cosmology. He has a forthcoming article entitled, How the Analysis of Light Led to a New Worldview: The Co-emergence of Quantum Mechanics, Depth Psychology, and the Jupiter-Uranus and Uranus-Pluto Cycles---An Archetypal Field Theory Hypothesis. He has been an assistant to Richard Tarnas at the California Institute of Integral Studies since 2004. His astrological focus centers around understanding the nature of humanity’s participation in archetypal phenomena with a particular focus on the epistemological and ontological consequences for how we participate in reality.
