Christel Lukoff
Track: Shamanism and Its Potential for Modern Man
Spiritual Wholeness through Folktales and Expressive Arts
Informed by her work with the dying as a hospice social worker, Dr. Lukoff shares soul lessons learned from people at the end of life. In our busy Western lives, we are used to a fast pace juggling the demands of work and family, leading to burnout and health problems. Nurturing activities like exercise, meditation, time in nature, mindfulness and friendships get squeezed into an already full schedule, leaving little time and energy to pause, reflect and engage in soul care. Through storytelling and expressive arts exercises participants will engage in reflection and self-care.
Christel Lukoff, Ph.D. works as a hospice social worker and psychotherapist in California. She uses traditional stories and collage art to address psychospiritual issues at the end of life and in bereavement. Dr. Lukoff regularly presents at hospice organizations and conferences in the U.S. and her native Germany. She has published 2 CD's: When Life and Death Walk Together & Stories of Love and Loss.
